NRA Home Firearm Safety Instructor Course

Tuition: $350.00
This is a 15 hour course.
Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching the NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course.
As a prerequisite to taking this course, you must already be an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor.
Prior to the course, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in a pre-course assessment exercises.
This course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training and discipline-specific instructor training. Students will demonstrate organizational and teaching skills by participating in practical exercises during the course and complete an instructor certification examination.
Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course student packet.

PLEASE NOTE: Certifications are issued by the NRA training department. Therefore you will pay tuition to USA Training Academy for the course and additional certification and processing fees payable to the NRA.

Course content:

This course includes Basic Instructor Training (BIT). This course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. An NRA Certified Training Counselor will validate comprehension and application of class content.
BIT takes approximately 15 hours. If this is your first Instructor credential, or if it has been more than 24 months since you have taken NRA Basic Instructor Training, you are required to take this course again.
Satisfactorily complete an NRA Instructor Training Course for Personal Protection in the Home and receive the endorsement of the NRA Training Counselor conducting your training.
Submit your application with the appropriate certification fee. Membership in the National Rifle Association is strongly recommended. Certified Ratings are available to individuals who wish to be fully qualified to conduct basic courses (21 years of age or older).
